to the Pre-Race Mandatory Meetings and The Race Sites: |
| In case of any last-minute changes, be sure to refer
to the AR Series Updates page before
leaving for the race. There are times when we need to make changes
and want you to go to the right location...

| For
races at Bayard Conservation Area (also know as J.P. Hall Preserve), just
south of Green Cove Springs, FL:
In order to get good directions from your home or hotel, try
using www.Mapquest.com
after you have selected your lodging. You can then get specific directions
at Mapquest from your home or hotel/motel to Bayard Conservation Area (BCA). You will just need to enter your starting point and your
destination (which is Bayard Conservation Area, Green Cove Springs,
Florida). Here is a link to
the Bayard location on Mapquest: CLICK HERE In general, from the north --
from Interstate Hwy 95, go west on Hwy 210 to Orangedale. Turn
south on Hwy 13 at the traffic light and follow Hwy 13 for about a mile to
the right turn onto State Road SR16. Proceed on SR 16 over the Shands
Bridge and after about 3/4 mile, take the first left turn into Bayard
CA/J.P. Hall Preserve. Watch for signs for Bayard Conservation Area or
J.P. Hall Preserve. If you get to marinas on the north side of the road, you should turn around.
From the north, driving on US Hwy 17, pass through Green
Cove Springs and take the left turn (east) on State Road SR16 toward the
Shands Bridge. Follow SR 16 for about a mile and turn right (south) into
the second parking lot for Bayard Conservation Area/J.P. Hall Preserve. Watch for signs for
Bayard Conservation Area or J.P. Hall Preserve. If you
travel to the approach for the Shands Bridge over the St Johns River, turn
around and drive to the first left turn into the Bayard CA.
In general, from the south, follow I-95 north
to exit for County Road 210. Go west on CR 210 all the way to Orangedale.
Turn south on Hwy 13 at the traffic light and follow Hwy 13 for about a
mile to the right turn onto State Road SR16. Proceed on SR 16 over the
Shands Bridge and after about 3/4 mile, take the first left turn into
Bayard CA/J.P. Hall Preserve. Watch for signs for Bayard Conservation Area
or J.P. Hall Preserve. If you get to marinas on the north side of the road, you should turn around.

races at Guana Reserve, South Ponte Vedra Beach, FL:
In order to get good directions from your home or hotel, try
using www.Mapquest.com
after you have selected your lodging. You can then get specific directions
at Mapquest from your home or hotel/motel to Guana Tolomato Matanzas
National Estuarine Research Reserve (formerly know as Guana River
State Park. You will just need to enter your starting point and your
destination (which is GMTNERR at 505 Guana River
Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 -- about 100-150
yards north of a Gate Gas Station located at 2700 South Ponte Vedra Blvd/
Hwy A1A).
In general, from the north, from Interstate Hwy
95, go east on Hwy 202/J. Turner Butler Expressway. Follow the Butler Expy
all the way to its eastern end and turn south on Hwy A1A, toward Ponte
Vedra Beach and St Augustine. You will go south for about 17-18 miles on
Hwy A1A. Watch for signs for GTMNERR (or some older signs for Guana River
State Park). You will pass three parking areas for the Reserve (on
the west side of A1A) before reaching the main entrance to the Reserve at
Guana River Road -- about 100-150 yards before reaching a GATE Gas
Station. If you get to the GATE gas station, you should turn around and
take a left into GTMNERR. Once in GTMNERR, follow the road straight
westward, over the dam and to The BEAR race site, next to the
western-most paved parking lot. The entry gate attendant may also be able
to give you a map and specific directions from that point.
In general, from the south, follow I-95 north
to exit going to St Augustine. You will go eastward to Hwy A1A and follow
it north, from St Augustine, over the Intracoastal Waterway. After
the bridge, go north about 8-8.25 miles on Hwy A1A and follow signs
toward GTMNERR. North of Vilano Beach, you will pass a GATE Gas Station --
about 100-150 yards after that gas station, you should take a left on
Guana River Road, into GTMNERR. Once in GTMNERR, follow the road straight
westward, over the dam and to The BEAR race site, next to the
western-most paved parking lot. The entry gate attendant may also be able
to give you a map and specific directions from that point.
All those attending the event will pay an user fee of
$3.00 per vehicle (with up to 8 people) at the Reserve entrance on Guana
River Rd. Any trailer is an additional $3.00. The Reserve entrance fee is not
included in the BEAR registration fee. (Parking spaces may be limited so
it is a good idea to encourage car pooling.)

races at Hanna Park in Atlantic Beach, FL: In order to get good
directions from your home or hotel, try using www.Mapquest.com
after you have selected your lodging. You can then get specific directions
at Mapquest from your home or hotel/motel to Hanna Park. You will
just need to enter your starting point and your destination (which is
Hanna Park at 500 Wonderwood Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32233 -- at the
intersection of Mayport Road and Wonderwood Drive)
In general, from the south, follow I-95 north
to exit going east at J. Turner Butler Blvd/Hwy 202. Follow the
Butler to the San Pablo exit (just before crossing the Intracoastal
Waterway). Go North on San Pablo to Atlantic Blvd, where you will take a
right, going east over the Intracoastal Waterway to Mayport Road/Hwy A1A
NORTH. Go north on A1A (Mayport Road) and follow signs toward Mayport
Naval Station until you come to Wonderwood Drive, where you should take a
right into Hanna Park. Once in Hanna Park, follow the instructions or
signs to the race site. The front gate attendant at Hanna Park should also
be able to give you specific directions from that point.
From the north, from I-95
south to Union Street exit going east past downtown, over the Matthews
Bridge. Road turns into Arlington Expressway; follow this to Atlantic
Boulevard and stay eastbound on Atlantic Boulevard over the Intracoastal
Waterway to the flyover to Mayport Road. Go north on A1A (Mayport Road) and follow signs toward Mayport
Naval Station until you come to Wonderwood Drive, where you should take a
right into Hanna Park. Once in Hanna Park, follow the instructions or
signs to the race site. The front gate attendant at Hanna Park should also
be able to give you specific directions from that point.

From I-75, exit on State Road 136 (exit
439). Travel east on SR 136 for 3 miles. Turn left on US 41. The park
entrance is on the left. |
From
Interstate 10, take the exit #301 for Highway 41 to the north, and follow Hwy
41 for about 9.5 miles to White Springs. Watch for signs for Stephen
Foster State Park and go to the Park entry. From the Park entrance, go to
the Auditorium building inside the park. See map below for an example of
the route from Jacksonville.

just need to enter your starting point and your destination.

you will be racing in the
Performance Adventure Race on the weekend that you need. Guest are
responsible for their own payment plan to obtain a confirmation. This
hotel is the closest to Hanna Park, the site of many of our adventure
races and other events.
