Entry Fees and How to Enter The BEAR -- and BEAR CUB Sprint:

Notice: Entry fees for The BEAR and BEAR CUB are the same for either race. 

Three/Four-person teams are only competing in The BEAR (10-hour race) and not in the BEAR CUB (5-hour race). 
Premier Division: Three or Four-person(3/4) Coed Teams. There are also divisions for Male 3/4-Person Teams and Female 3/4-Person Teams.  The price is the same for 3-person and 4-person teams. Entry fee for 3/4-person team is $360 postmarked more than three weeks before the race date;  $400 postmarked three weeks or less prior to race date up to late registration. 
Two-Person Teams: There will be divisions for Coed 2-Person Teams, Female 2-Person Teams, and Male 2-Person Teams in both The BEAR (10-hour) and in the BEAR Cub (5-hour).  The BEAR Cub allows teams of two people (or solo competitors). Entry fee for Two-person team is $195 postmarked more than three weeks before the race date;  $220 postmarked three weeks or less prior to race date up to late registration.
Solo competitors will be permitted in the 5-hour race only. Entry fee for a Solo Competitor is $95 postmarked more than three weeks before the race date;  $120 postmarked three weeks or less prior to race date up to late registration.
In The BEAR, The Premier Division is 4-Person Coed Teams. All competitors must enter as Teams. In The BEAR (10-hour limit), Teams must be made up of either two, three, or four competitors on each team.  In The BEAR CUB Sprint (5-hour limit), Teams may be made up of either two competitors on each team or may be Solo athletes.  No competitor can be on more than one team. Entry fees must be sent with completed entry form.  To allow for processing, end in your completed entry form soon.  All participants must complete the Waiver and turn them in to Race Registration before the Mandatory Meeting, as outlined on the BEAR Updates page.  Entrants will not need need to pay an additional one-day insurance fee for this event. Entry fee includes custom BEAR race finisher shirt, race numbers, and awards for the top teams.

Special Discounts: Military/Public Safety Teams are made up of people working actively as members of the military, Coast Guard, police, sheriff, fire & rescue, Secret Service, FBI, CIA, TSA, or other lifesaving or national security organizations. To qualify, each Military/Public Safety Team must mail their entry at least 10 days prior to the race and must have more than half of the Team made up of  active-duty personnel.  Military/Public Safety Teams must process their entries through The Race Director for The BEAR -- send your entry to The BEAR - Performance MultiSports, 365 Charlemagne Circle, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.  Military/Public Safety Team entries must include photocopy of military or public safety employee picture ID for each Team member. You may email the RD or call with questions: (904) 373-8411. 

Military/Public Safety Teams: Entry fee for 3- or 4-person team is $300 postmarked three weeks before race date;  $360 postmarked after the date three weeks prior to race date.

Military/Public Safety Teams: Entry fee for 2-person team is $150 postmarked three weeks before race date;  $200 if postmarked after the date three weeks prior to race date.

Military/Public Safety SOLOS: Entry fee for Solo competitor is $85 postmarked three weeks before race date;  $100 if postmarked after the date three weeks prior to race date.

Entries for The BEAR require considerable advance effort on the part of the race organizers, so please send in your completed entry form soon. Entry fee includes custom BEAR racing shirt, race numbers, custom finisher’s medal, post race refreshments and party, and awards for the top teams. Send fee and entry form to address on Entry Form

How to Enter:
Enter as a team:   In The BEAR, the Premier Division is made up of Coed, 3- or 4-person Teams. The BEAR (10-hour limit) also allows other teams of two or four persons, which may be mixed genders or single-sex. In The BEAR, all competitors must enter as teams. In The BEAR CUB (5-hour limit), there are teams of two persons (which may be mixed genders or single-sex) and Solo competitors.  No competitor can be on more than one team.   Entry fees must be sent with completed entry form. Each member's information & email address must be completed on the Team application. Each competitor must sign and turn in a completed Waiver of Liability. NOTE: Each competitor will be required to print, complete, sign and turn in a Waiver in order to participate in the race under the terms of our insurance.

Late Registration -- Teams may also register in person for The BEAR on the morning of the race at the Team Check-In and Packet Pick-up area. See BEAR Updates page for details. Teams that intend to register at this time must also send prior email notice to the Race Director, including names of participants, team name, race and category of team. In addition to the normal entry fee, there is a nominal late fee of $40 per team, for those waiting until the day prior to the race or until race day  to enter..

Cancellation Policy: Much of the cost of providing an adventure race is spent long before you arrive at the race site. In fact, most of our costs need to be paid in advance and are not recoverable. Typically, we go forward with an adventure race "rain or shine." If severe weather conditions or other issues out of our control (such as hurricane or the closing of the race site by order of the local government), we will postpone and reschedule our race. The race organizers are not responsible for such changes in schedule, and will credit any paid entries toward the rescheduled race date. If a written cancellation of registration is initiated by the participant more than 21 days in advance of the event date, full credit will be available. If participant's cancellation notice is sent 21 days or less (before the race), a 50% credit will be applied; 10 days or less, a 25% credit; less than 120 hours notice, or no notice ("no shows") will receive no credit. Any such credit is good for 180 days from the date of the scheduled event toward entry/registration in another similar Performance Multisports event. Refunds are not available.
